New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
This is a busy area just to the west of Ramsgate station and maintenance depot.
Trains to the capital run through here, as do trains to Ashford via Canterbury, and services to Dover.
Railway type and traffic
Southeastern 375 units galore!
You may be lucky if an engineers is passing through. Several steam charters may also pass during the year.

RTT Link Ramsgate, Newington Road
This link should be close to the location, but may not be the actual location so please check the page. This link will take you to what is happening 'around now'. Dates and times can be changed at the top of the page.
Environment
This is a busy road bridge which crosses the line here. The swimming pool just to the south of here often attracts a youth element, that may put some off this location. We must be cautious.
Road directions
You can walk down the public footpath from the station which should only take 4-5 minutes at most.
If you wish to drive, head south from the station down Wilfred Road. Turn right onto the A253. At the first mini roundabout, turn right, and go straight over the next one. You will soon cross over the railway which is the actual location.

Parking
The swimming pool has closed but the car park remains available for use.
Just as you cross the road bridge, if coming from the south, you will notice space to park around 4-5 cars on the right hand side just ahead. If these are taken, then you will have to chance a side street!

Photographic notes
If the sun is right, the 'best' photos can be had of east bound trains up until lunchtime, and west bound trains, and depot shots, from lunchtime onwards.
Traffic noise from the raod may also be a problem for videographers.
