New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Germany, Bayern on the Buchloe-Memmingen main line. Nearest major city is Munich, nearest large town is Buchloe
Railway type and traffic
Single track main line, featuring EC's from Munchen~Zurich, RE's from Munchen~Memmingen and Augsburg~Hergatz. Currently hauled by DB class 218. There are also some local units.
Environment
Open countryside, straight track.

Parking
Park on street, but beware as the road is narrow.
Public transport
Turkheim station - turn left out of station, walk parallel to railway for 20 minutes and pick a spot. Rammingen to Turkheim on foot takes approx 40mins, you can get out at Rammingen and walk back to Turkheim, photting as you go.

Amenities
Virtually no shops that I could see, although Turkheim probably has a bar, the station bar usually seems to be closed.

Photographic notes
For Memmingen bound trains, sun is good afternoon, if you can get the 'sun' side of the track. It is possible to shoot both ways, remember that the loco hauled regional trains have DVTs.
