Location notes
Hoylake is a commuter village just east of West Kirby.
Railway type and traffic
A 15 minute daytime frequency provided by class 507/508 EMUs.
Environment
The station is fairly busy and the buildings are quite interesting being of about 1930 design and similar to that used by Charles Holden on the Underground, having a circular Booking Hall.
Road directions
From Liverpool, use the Wallesey Tunnel to access junction 2 of the M53 which then leads to junction 2A. Take the A551 north to Moreton roundabout and turn left onto the A553 towards West Kirby. This road crosses Meols station bridge then passes through Hoylake village. After that there is a roundabout and the station is signposted to the left of this.

There is a station car park.
Public transport
There are regular bus services from Birkenhead to West Kirby which pass along the main road.

Amenities
There are a few shops near the station and a bar in an old fire station. The main shops in Hoylake are about 1/4 mile along the main road east.

Light is generally best here for trains heading towards West Kirby. photos can be taken both on the station and from the footbridge at the Level Crossing.
