New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
The terminus of the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR). Hythe is a medium sized town with a large number of shops, cafés and takeaways only 5/10 minutes away from the station.
Railway type and traffic
Regular steam and diesel passenger services of the RH&DR running to Dungeness via Dymchurch, St Mary's Bay, New Romney & Romney Sands.

Lots of added trains on Gala days etc.

Environment
Station is always staffed when open and is a safe area.
Road directions
From the M20 Junction 11 the station is well sign posted.

Parking
There is a large railway car park just 50p for all day, also a large amount of free parking alongside the canal.
Public transport
Access by RH&DR services from along the coast. Southeastern to Folkestone Central then any bus heading towards Hythe around a 10 minute journey or so.

Amenities
There are toilets and a small gift shop at the station. There is a small café next door and a large number of takeaways etc in the high street about 5/10 mins away along the canal.

Plenty of scope from the platforms showing the turntable and any shunting operations. Also a walk along the canal there is The Gem foot crossing which give good views of trains leaving the station and arriving.
