Location notes
A pair of road bridges (Coldharbour and Lee Drive) located close to the village of Lee, just south of Romsey, with a view over the Wessex Main Line from Salisbury to Southampton (not Chandlers Ford).
Railway type and traffic
Passenger services are in the hands of SWT 158s and FGW 153/158s, with the odd 150 as well. Freight is limited during the week, though a few notable workings include the Quidhampton tanks which run Wednesday and Friday and the Chichester stone train. There is no booked freight on weekends, but if the lines at Basingstoke are shut, as happens quite often, you can expect to find several diverted container trains. All freight will be in the hands of 59s or 66s with the occasional 60.
Environment
Both the bridges are fairly low in traffic, and the locale is quiet although it is rather close to the M27 motorway. Would not advise visiting after dark, but only due to the severe lack of lighting than any danger from thugs.
Road directions
From the M27, Junction 3:Head on to the M271 towards Romsey (A3057). Turn left at the first roundabout you come to for Coldharbour, and for Lee Drive continue on to the A3057 and turn left at the first turning.

Parking
There is space at both bridges for a handful of cars, but if something special is due along it may become a bit tricky.
Public transport
The locations are a fair walk from both Romsey and Redbridge stations, to my knowledge there is no local bus service.

Photographic notes
The line is directly north/south at both locations, so the best shots are southbound throughout the day. There are a variety of angles available but most of them are tight-ish.
The location will be fine for video apart from slight background noise from M27 and probably the wind!
