Location notes
Brookwood Station is on the London to Basingstoke main line a few miles west of Woking.
Railway type and traffic
An intensive South West Trains service, mainly composed of Class 158, 159, 444, 450. Class 455s work as required through en-route between the Depots at East Wimbledon & Bourenmouth, 458/0 & 458/5 are very rare.
Also Colas worked engineers trains twice a day on weekday behind class 66/8 or 70/8 and a single train each way at present operated by GBRf behind a 66/7
Environment
A fairly quiet outer suburban railway station. The station is in a quiet peaceful area, and is not heavily used off-peak.
Road directions
Brookwood Station is immediately adjacent to the A324 Woking to Farnborough Road, approximately 3 miles south-west of Woking.

There is a car park at the station charging £3.40 per day.
Public transport
Brookwood is served by frequent rail services direct from Waterloo, Woking and Basingstoke.

Amenities
Toilets are provided on the station. There is a small shop about 1/4 mile west of the station along the A324.

None in Brookwood itself but plenty nearby

Photographic notes
The line heads very close to east - west with London being to the east.
In the morning up trains can be pictured from the west end of the down platform.
The best afternoon shot is of down trains, on the through line (which most are) from the east end of the down platform.
However there is a wide well tended platform on the downside, so stopping trains are also possible to photograph.

On late summer evenings it is also possible to photograph down trains from the east end of the up platform.
