Location notes
Located on the ECML, north of Huntingdon, this is a foot crossing over the ECML at the top end of Rectory Lane.
Railway type and traffic
Expect to see East Coast HSTs, 225 sets; Grand Central HSTs & 180 DMUs; First Hull Trains 180 DMUs; First Capital Connect services are operated by a mixture of Class 317, Class 321 and Class 365 units.
The odd daytime freight working also passes through here, including the Biggleswade Plasmor flow, the Dollands Moor - Scunthorpe Steel and Thamesport - Leeds Freightliner.
Environment
Located at the end of Rectory Lane is a foot crossing across the ECML. Used by ramblers and cyclists to cross the railway to some cottages and side roads at the back of the old American airbase of Alconbury.
Road directions
From the South:Take the A1/A14 to Huntingdon and onto the A141 towards March. At the roundabout for Tescos follow the signposts for Abbots Ripton. Upon entering the village, Rectory Lane is on your left hand side. Follow the single lane track to its end.
From the North:From the A1(M) Junction 15, at the fourth roundabout turn left and follow signs to Abbots Ripton. Upon entering the village, Rectory Lane is on your right just past the church. Rectory Lane is a single track lane, follow it to its end.

Parking
You can park on the side verges at the end of the lane. The gatekeepers lodge is a private house, so take care not to block their access.
Public transport
Abbots Ripton is not on a bus route, this is a car / bike only location.

There is a pub in the village serving food, otherwise there is fast food / Tescos at Huntingdon.
Accommodation
Nearest Hotel is probably either in Huntingdon or Redwings on the B1043 just north of Sawtry.
