New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Drumchapel is a suburb of Glasgow on the north-west side of the city.
Railway type and traffic
There is a frequent EMU service on the line, which is served by trains to Dalmuir (via Singer). The EMUs are usually a mixture of classes 318/320 and 334, the 314s are rarely now seen on the north side of the city.
The station is fairly busy and is in a residential area of Glasgow.
Road directions
The station is located on a road heading north from the A82 west of Glasgow City Centre. The railway crosses the road by a bridge, the station is on the right.

Drumchapel map co-ordinates
There is a small station car park, failing that you could park on nearby residential roads. This should be safe during the day.
Public transport
There is a regular train service from both Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central. Ensure you catch a train to Dalmuir, Dumbarton or Helensburgh VIA SINGER. If the first available train is routed via Yoker, catch this to Partick or Hyndland and change. First Bus service 9 operates about every 10 minutes from Glasgow and terminates at the station.

There appears to be few amenities in the immediate area, Drumchapel shops being about a 10 minute walk away.

Photographic notes
The light here is best for a morning shot of a train entering the station from the west, heading towards Glasgow, framed by the OHLE gantry. The afternoon would tend to favour shots the other way, but these can be shaded as the line enters a tree-lined cutting.
