Location notes
Located midway along the Settle and Carlisle line, just south of Ais Gill summit. This is a very scenic route and attracts a large number of tourists and ramblers.
Railway type and traffic
Most of the local services are operated by 156s.
There are a number of freight services operated by DB Schenker/Freightliner/DRS. Although non-electrified the line is also used as a diversionary route when the West Coast Main Line is blocked between Preston and Carlisle

Road directions
From the A684 Garsdale Station is signposted on a south facing turning. If approaching from the east you will pass under the railway before the turn. From the west you will pass the villages of Knudmaning and Clough before the turn.
