Location notes
Stockenden Farm is just south of Oxted on the line to Uckfield.
Railway type and traffic
The line is worked by Southern's new 171 units, having replaced the 'Thumpers' at the end of 2004. There is an hourly service throughout the day shuttling between Oxted and Uckfield using 2 units, with additional peak-time workings to London Bridge. There are plans for all journeys to extend to London when sufficient units become available.
Environment
The area is rural and quiet. The bridge is on a small country lane and sees a small amount of traffic and horses from a nearby stables.
Road directions
Take the A25 east from Oxted. Turn right onto the B269 and take the second road on the right towards Pains Hill and Itchingwood Common. This road crosses the railway by the bridge.

Photographic notes
Light is best here for trains heading south towards Uckfield. In the morning this will be from the east side of the bridge and in the afternoon from the west. Looking south from the bridge the line passes through a small wood so shots this way can be shaded. There is a public footpath passing through the trees on the east side of the line which takes you to Grants Lane foot crossing about 300 yards south of the bridge.
