New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
This is a station on the 6.5 mile Watford to St Albans Abbey branch line. It is the third station on the line and is about 3 1/2 miles south of St Albans Abbey station.
For more information about the line and it's history go to The Abbeyline Website
Railway type and traffic
In a day you will see one unit working the line, all day. This has been either Class 313, 321 or 150 on occasion.
Charters are very rare due to pathing constraints and test trains have been know to visit on an annual basis.
Engineering is more likely to be carried out by road rail equipment.
Environment
The station is an old platform building and still retains a canopy. There is a builders yard in what would have been part of the car park.
Road directions
From the M25, Junction 21a:

Photographic notes
The station still retains a 'steam era' canopy over the platform which provides some visual interest. The line is fairly straight at this point and the OLE masts are all on the opposite side of the line. Looking to the north there are a number of over bridges, but the line to the south is uninterrupted. The line is also dead straight at this point.
