New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Located 5 1/2 miles north of London Kings Cross on the Hertford loop. Bowes Park is also just north of Bounds Green TMD.
Railway type and traffic
Most of the traffic that uses the Hertford loops is First Capital Connect passenger units, with some freight that is not cleared for the slightly restrictive loading gauges of the southern ECML tunnels. The station also has a head shunt to the north of the platforms that movements from Kings Cross to Bounds Green use to reverse into the depot.

Photographic notes
The platform is an island between the two lines. To the north end of the platforms is the headshunt. There is little to cast shadows on passing trains other than the main station buildings.
