Location notes
Dagenham Dock is located on the East London / Essex Borders - a short ride on the c2c line from London Fenchurch Street or A13/M25 by car.
The station is, in effect, a branch line of the 'c2c' route served by a mixture of freight and passenger services.
Railway type and traffic
Passenger-wise, services operating from London Fenchurch Street split at Barking (previous station), and serve Dagenham Dock, Rainham, Purfleet, Grays, Tilbury and then join back up with the main line again. Electrostar 357s run every half hour in either direction, with an increased frequency to London in the morning and from London in the evening.
Freight-wise, North and Southbound Liners pass through the station at invariable times. Freightliner (Barking and Dagenham) have their terminal just east of the station and of course, the historic Ford car plant further down the line. Expect to see mainly 66s, however, other locos have been know to pass through. A convoy of the ever-popular 4M26 Dagenham-Crew cars depart at 14:21 on weekdays. Although usually 66-headed, this can sometimes be triple-headed by a diverse range of motive power.
Environment
Dagenham Dock is located in a rural area, but also with an industrial estate close by, home of Ford Motor Company, Freightliner and Barking Power station to name but a few.
With the construction of CTRL, there are a few fair rail workers around. Fairly deserted during day, obviously keep your eyes open, but you are reasonably safe.
Road directions
Dagenham is off the A13, which is junction 30 from the M25 at Thurrock.

From the A13 (eastbound):
On your left is a Mecca Bingo complex. At A1306 junction, branch left (signposted Dagenham) then at roundabout there is a strange statue in centre, take 2nd exit A1306 (straight over). Continue until you reach homebase on your right and turn right at the lights into Chequers Lane.
The station is 1/4 mle down on your right.

From the A13 (Westbound):
At the HAYS Logistics distribution centre on left, branch left down sliproad (signposted Dagenham. Take a right at small roundabout and continue to A1306 which bears right. Continue until you reach homebase on your right and turn right at the lights into Chequers Lane.
The station is 1/4 mle down on your right.

Parking
Due to CTRL construction the station entrance is rather makeshift at the moment. You can leave your car in the small tarmaced car park at the entrance of the station that is very close to the platform so you can keep an eye on it. You could park at store entrance of ASDA and take a 10 minute walk back.
Public transport
Stopping c2c services from Fenchurch Street run every half hour. District line services either from Upminster or from London - change at Barking for c2c to Dagenham.

Amenities
There is a canopy on both platforms and 6-lane A13 bridge (3 up, 3 down) to cover you from the elements also with a few seats. No toilets, however, a large Asda is about 10 minute walk away with cafe and toilets. There is the occasional burger van.

Photographic notes
The A13 new road runs across the line and this offers both shelter and noise, so probably not good for video.
