Location notes
The second station to be opened in Cowdenbeath, replacing the first station, to the south. It was opened on 29th March 1919. Right in the centre of the town, the station sits high on an embankment, and is on the Fife Circle.
Railway type and traffic
The station is served by First Scotrail trains on both Fife Circle workings, and Edinburgh - Cowdenbeath short workings.
The line is a diversionary route, when the Kirkcaldy - Inverkeithing section of the ECML is closed.
DB Schenker class 66s pass through with HAA wagons.
Environment
Cowdenbeath station is in the town centre, and is high on an embankment, meaning it can be fairly exposed. The ramps up to the station are quite steep. Also, try to avoid the station after dark.
Road directions
From the A92:Come off at the Cowdenbeath Junction, and follow signs for Cowdenbeath. Head for the town centre. Go straight over the roundabout, and you will come onto the high street. Keep going, and you will see the rail bridge ahead.

Parking
Parking is signposted, but best avoid the area on a Saturday, as either Cowdenbeath FC will be playing, or car racing will be taking place, at Central Park.

Amenities
The station is located over the middle of the high street, and so most facilities are close to hand.
